Objectives Of Women Harassment Cell
  • ---In line with the ethos of GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC VALSAD ,the Code of Conduct was laid down whereby each member at the institute is expected to conduct himself/herself in the most respectful manner. Every member shall maintain proper discipline at the institute and treat others with respect, fairness and dignity. Institute does not approve of discrimination in treatment based on colour, race, religion, sex and is committed to provide an educational work environment that is transparent in its conduct, being fair and non-discriminatory. GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC VALSAD is committed to be a gender friendly educational institute. This is in order to enhance equal opportunities for male, female and transgender, to prevent/stop/redress sexual harassment at institute and to promote good study environment. In pursuance of the directions issued by University Grant Commission (UGC) and Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), our institute set up the WHC with the following objectives:(1)To provide and foster a dignified, congenial working environment for women employees (including teaching, non-teaching and contractual workers) and students, where they can realize their potential to their fullest.(2)To make women aware of their social and legal rights and thus empower them to stand against any discrimination.
  • Roles & Responsibility Of Women Harassment Cell
    • ---The Cell will deal with the cases / complaints of sexual annoyance and any other type of harassment of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college.
    • ---The Cell shall process all the individual complaints and take suitable action thereon in the manner and mode as per the college norms.
    • ---The Cell will provide assistance to the Faculty/Colleges/Institute for taking preventive steps in the matter of gender discrimination and sexual harassment.
    • ---The Cell may form / review the guidelines / policy for redressal of the grievance as required from time to time, which may be in accordance with those issued by Supreme Court and Government Agencies.
    • ---To conduct meetings whenever required and discuss relevant issues, in consultation with the Principal seeking his/her approval.
    • Procedure for lodging complaint
      • ---The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing (in prescribed form which is available at college's website) to the convener of Women Harassment Cell.
      • ---The harassment Cell will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents.
      • ---The harassment Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.
      • ---After a complaint is received by the convener, committee will be formed within 15 days and action will be taken, in consideration with the decision made by the team.
      • ---Further it will be forwarded to DTE Director of Technical Education, Gujarat and the decision made by them will be considered as final.
