  •       The Department of Science and Humanities is the base of Engineering Education. The Department consists of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English courses. All the courses in the department exist as a separate unit and maintain individual identity under single umbrella. The strength of the department is its co-ordination in carrying out the academic responsibilities effectively. The department has well equipped laboratories in Physics, Chemistry and English. The department aims to transfer the younger generation into responsible citizens and aspires to lead the budding engineers towards the path of success. It is committed to produce competent diploma holders with better communication skills.

Physics Laboratory

The physics laboratory is for the better development of the diploma students to provide practical understanding and opportunity to enhance their knowledge by exploring. It is well organized and equipped with all the necessary instruments. The students studying the courses Physics and Applied physics perform the experiments in this laboratory. Applied physics is offered to students of civil engineering, mechanical engineering and chemical engineering in first semester and plastic engineering in second semester, while Physics is offered to information & technology and electrical engineering students in the second semester.

Chemistry Laboratory

The Chemistry Laboratory is well located in college campus , infront of an administrative building and nearer to college canteen. In chemistry laboratory is provided with a wall-cupboard for safe keeping of corrosive chemicals in view of the laboratory safety. Each working table in the laboratory is well furnished with reagent racks & well connected with water supply. The Chemistry Laboratory is well equipped with available instruments other than the usual glassware & chemicals, and the safety devices such as Firefighting equipment, First- Aid Kit etc. The acids and other reactive chemicals are placed in separate on chemical racks as a further precautionary measure. In chemistry laboratory experiment is performed as per GTU syllabus.

Language Laboratory

A Language laboratory is a dedicated space for language learning where students access audio-visual materials for language acquisition. Language Laboratory is an almost a necessary component to have a good command over the English language for overall success in life/ to teach language in an easier and effective manner. Having clarity, accuracy and fluency of the English language enhances confidence which opens up doors to the new avenues. A student understands the nuances of the English language which serves as a platform to rise and evolve in his/her life and career. Thus, it is vital that provision for an English language lab is made to strengthen the skills for this global language. LSRW is a natural way of learning a language. The four basic language skills are to be learnt in a sequence which is very much required for effective language acquisition. It is similar to learning a mother tongue in the logical order of the four steps such as Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing known as LSRW. In the Language Lab at the institute, teaching and learning efficiency is intensified with the advanced, unique and user -friendly features to improve vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, phonetics, pace of speech, syllabic division and stress patterns, voice modulation, fluency, assessment of speaking and listening skills, communication skills, presentation skills, interview skills and soft skills. Sufficient numbers of computer systems are dedicatedly available for the language lab in our institute with software. We use EWL ( English Edu. –will. Wordsworth-Language Lab) software for English Language Laboratory. It is innovative English language laboratory software, which gives students the ability to learn English language; this software can be accessed any time within the campus. The software is designed to cover needs of different levels students.
